More than once I’ve heard him say the law and justice don’t always see eye to eye. Although he doesn’t come right out and say it, I know in his heart he’s thinking that justice is the higher power.
I didn’t choose Franklin for Laura and I didn’t choose Jack for Christine, but given all I’ve seen I know my girls chose more wisely than I would have.
Rose, bless her sweet heart, always believed life was like a carousel. If you offer the world good and fair measure, it will in time come back to you. What goes around, comes around, she’d say. Although I didn’t always see the wisdom of such a statement, I do now. This is the coming around.

About the Author
Award-winning novelist Bette Lee Crosby brings the wit and wisdom of her Southern Mama to works of fiction—the result is a delightful blend of humor, mystery and romance.
“Storytelling is in my blood,” Crosby laughingly admits, “My mom was not a writer, but she was a captivating storyteller, so I find myself using bits and pieces of her voice in most everything I write.”
Crosby’s work was first recognized in 2006 when she received The National League of American Pen Women Award for a then unpublished manuscript. Since then, she has gone on to win numerous other awards, including The Reviewer’s Choice Award, FPA President’s Book Award Gold Medal and The Royal Palm Literary Award.
